Welcome to my jewelry and art page! I’m a self-taught, published artist who does a little bit of everything. I really enjoy creating one-of-a-kind rustic pieces out of sterling silver and stones. It may sound unusual to some, but I absolutely LOVE rocks and have since I was a little girl. To further that passion, I acquired my Accredited Jewelry Professional diploma from the Gemological Institute of America and in 2018, I also received my Registered Gemologist Appraiser diploma from the International School of Gemology; a very exciting milestone for me. I can now offer my customers jewelry appraisals and gemstone identifications. Information on those services can be found on my other website, www.pgjappraisals.com
These days I’m spending most of my time in my home studio illustrating, painting and making jewelry. When I’m not making jewelry, my preferred medium to work with is colored pencil although I do enjoy working in oils, acrylics and alcohol inks as well. I get my inspiration from nature and as you can probably tell by my “paintings”, I LOVE animals! My piece, “Small Wonders” is published in, CP Hidden Treasures by Ann Kullberg and, “Anticipation” was on exhibit over the summer of 2014 at The Cornell Lab of Ornithology. My drawings, “Wild and Free” and “Daylight’s Grace” took 1st and 2nd place at the 2020 Fredericksburg Fine Arts Show. My piece, “Heaven’s Messenger” took Honorable Mention in the same show held in 2021. I’m currently a docent for Canal Quarter Arts (CQA) and Darbytown Art Studio (DAS) in downtown Fredericksburg, VA. I’m at CQA every Tuesday and every other Friday and DAS every Thursday. I have a small display space in both galleries so if you’re ever in the area, we’d love for you to stop by and check us out! You can find so many super talented artists there! To stay up to date with me & what I’m working on, check out my social media accounts on Instagram and Facebook.
My memberships include the Colored Pencil Society of America (CPSA), candidate member of the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers (NAJA), a student membership at the American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) and Self-Representing Artist in Jewelry Design (SRAJD).
